Chiyo - Dog Boarding Client

We adopted Chiyo in May 2008 from the Shiba Inu Rescue Association (SIRA) in Ilinois. We went to a meet and greet at Soggy Paws in Uptown where they were showcasing fostered shiba inus, including puppies. Chiyo was the oldest of all of the dogs, and an unusually fine specimen of the cream-colored fur variant. She looked irritated and had this goofy bandana wrapped around her neck, completely undignified for such a gorgeous creature. I knew at first site she was the one for me. My commitment shy boyfriend (now husband) needed a second trip back to Soggy Paws that day to come to the same conclusion. She was fostered by the society after being left at the animal shelter in late 2007. Chiyo was 12 years old and losing her site when we adopted her. She is now completely blind and partially deaf. All that aside, she is the joy of our lives. She is independent, quiet, low maintenance, funny, smart as a whip and elegant. In fact, she is the most beautiful Shiba Inu anyone will ever see. Now this dog, once rejected by her original family, lives a fabulous lifestyle in Old Town with great medical care - including dental - homemade hypoallergenic food, bumper beds, three walks a day, and treats dispensed with regularity.
